Developing Swim Group Class

(Swimmer)

Taking place in our warm instructional pool, this class focuses on swimming skills that will lead to greater confidence, comfort, strength, and mobility in the water. Swimmers in this class are comfortable going underwater and are beginning to understand kicking for propulsion.

Class Requirements: Swimmer must be able to take a deep breath and go underwater on his or her own and understand the concepts of floating and kicking.

Core competencies achieved in this class include:

Pushing from steps and wall into a horizontal body position on the front, pushing off the wall into a back glide, independent jumping in and swimming to the wall, propulsion skills through strong kicking as well as using big arm freestyle, pop-up breathing and assisted rolling breathing.

Age Groups: 3s, 4-5s

Student / Teacher Ratio:

3:1 for 3s Classes and 4:1 for 4-5s Classes

Class Length: 40-Minutes, Once per Week
